With water levels back up from the recent rain, I fished the Millers for about four hours. Particular runs were again in “full bloom,” and there were many bugs everywhere. The water was a refreshing 62 °F. With the water up again, I didn’t have to be so stealthy in approaching the fish.
Went 11-for-14. Landed one baby smallmouth, and five rainbows and five browns. They were feasting on small bugs.
The Euro Golden Stone elicited no takes this time, which surprised me, as it has been red-hot. Instead, it was a #18 WD-40 and a #14 Frenchie that duped the fish.
Left at about 10.30 am. A good time.

It was fun this morning, wasn't it? At Orcutt I enjoyed a rainbow, brown and a nice sized smallmouth. A nice morning.
A trifecta for you!
Well done. I love catching those brown trout. They fight like crazy and just keep digging down until they finally tire.
Yes, pretty interesting. Rainbows tend to jump, and browns tend to dive to the bottom and shake their heads. Pretty cool.
