Wow, above, is a great video featuring brown trout and some slow-motion footage. It also features Euro-nymphing.
As I’ve written before, that technique, for me, has been incredibly productive. It has led to some days featuring a pile of trout and some big ones (my personal best is a 21″ holdover brown from the Farmington).
IMO, this style of fishing does really well at rivers such as the Westfield, Farmington, and the waters around Pittsburg, NH, all of which feature a ton of pocket water. For me, it hasn’t been a great technique for the Swift, except for a few select stretches when the water flows are high.
