Swift River: 8x and 9x
Off and on, I’ve been working on throwing size 30 dries while at flat water. I’m avoiding quick currents and trying to see if I can get fish to take up top at slow or still water, even when there isn’t a hatch going on. The trout can eyeball the flies for a long time.
My Game Plan
These days, my fishing game plan is mostly nonexistent. I usually don’t have one. I’m non-committal about a fishing destination until the morning of. The Connecticut River Trophy Stretch: Update 4
My daughter decided to sleep in on the morning of our departure from Pittsburg, NH. So, I had two hours to fish and was hoping for the best. I hit a Trophy Stretch spot that I knew had salmon and proceeded to tightline. Nothing. The sun rose and illuminated the river’s surface, and I started to
