The stocking trucks in Massachusetts and Connecticut have been rolling (updates, respectively, here and here). The trout season in New Hampshire ends October 15. So, prepare to fish! Thin Euronymphing Leaders
“Thin to win.” That’s the trend among some competition anglers. So, I’m fiddling with new and thinner Euronymphing leader formulas (at the bottom of this post). A thinner/lighter leader ups a rig’s sensitivity and lets you fish better smaller flies due to less drag. All this can lead to more fish and bigger fish. George
A Great Day with George Daniel
In fly fishing, there are a few bad days, some good days, and some occasional great days. Saturday was a great day. I was at a clinic with two-time national champion George Daniel (his must-have nymphing books here and here) and saw challengingly high flows, some good fish, and a huge one that got away.
