I hope everyone is well out there. The fall semester is pretty crushing for me this year and so I haven’t been fishing much.
I am also getting my firearms and hunting licenses, which means taking a few courses here in Massachusetts to qualify. It has been fun to learn something new, and I am hopeful to be targeting pheasant shortly, thanks to a generous friend who is part of a hunting club a few hours away. Bougie, I know. But when a hunting friend wants to show you the ropes, why not?
All that is a long way of saying that most of my fly-fishing activity has been through watching tying videos. I am a huge fan of making and throwing tiny dries. I love the challenge, and sometimes they’re the only flies that picky browns will take. To that end, up top is a very thoughtful video that contains a lot of practical tips.
Tight lines to those on the water, and happy hunting to those in the field!

Have fun with your bird hunting. A great way to obtain a delicious meal as well as add to your fly tying material stash! Remember to POINT and don’t AIM!
Thank you!
Remember to shoot to where the bird WILL be, not where it is. That’s the hard part to remember.
Thank you!
