When summer kicks in, my best dropper flies tend to be small emergers. So, I am experimenting with some new colors, as I prep for our Pittsburg, NH, trip.
Up above is a version that I hope will do well, in a size 18.
It is a simple tie. Olive thread and a segment colored black with a Sharpie for the ribbing. Grey Superfine dubbing for the thorax and for contrast. Coq de Leon for the tail and wings. A touch of Krystal flash.
Hope they work.
