I’m a sucker for big brown trout. They’re tough to fool.

Up above is a picture from Grant Figura, a guide who covers the Swift, Deerfield, and Westfield East Branch rivers. He recently wrote a blog post about chasing wild browns. While many anglers are chasing the newly-stocked trout, the idea of finding a quieter piece of water sounds really appealing.

Also, note that Grant has a new web site for his guiding services, called North River Anglers. I often have interacted with him. He is a really great guy.
