I visited a local stream for a few hours. Had a great time landing on a 1-wt. a few dozen panfish.
I could see the takes much of the time, and some pretty hefty crappies pounced on the fly. A soft-hackled Hare’s Ear (pumped up and down) was the winning fly, although the the trailing WD40 took its fair share. The hare’s ear was pretty much destroyed by the end of the outing.
I think that’s a sign of a good fishing day. A mangled fly at the end of the tippet as you walk back to the car
Sorely-needed rain coming. Looking forward to cooler and higher water for the trout.
