OK, so I know this is a blog post focused on Massachusetts waters. But, local reports say this: the local rivers are still iced up and the Swift River trout are in hiding.
So, I reached out to a source at the famed Farmington River in Connecticut. He has been fly fishing for 30 years and actually lives right next to the river. Lucky guy!
His view: the Farmington is fishing well, between the Church and Boneyard pools. Here is a map of the river.
I may head there this Sunday, if work, family and weather forecast magically converge.
I don’t know well that river, and so, any advice would be appreciated! I am at BlogFlyFishMA for Gmail.

Brk Trt had some good posts on the "wild side" to the Farmington. I wish I knew where those were as they seemed like an awesome angling experience.
Ditto!
