It’s Been a Month!

It’s finally been a month since I started this blog! Well, it’s actually been a few days more than a month, but whatever. I’ve got a few observations and stats since I started, that I’d like to share…

  • There have been 950 page views – at least 100 of which were probably my own
  • I’ve had 19 posts – a little more than 4 a week (but I was out for a week with pneumonia)
  • The most popular posts were regarding the Swift
  • There have been 44 comments – many of which were my responses though
I’d like to thank everyone who has been reading the blog. Moving forward I’m going to try to make at least 4 posts a week. Are there any things that you guys want me to discuss? More reports? Swift River? Let me know; and feedback is appreciated.
Lastly, I would like to thank RI Brook Trout for reading and commenting on almost every post. I always look forward to what you have to say.
Fishing is gonna be getting slow, so expect less reports and more fly tying recipes and specific locations. And plenty of Swift Reports too.

  1. Thanks for doing the blog. I mainly comment so you know that there are people out here who enjoy reading the blog and also to ask any questions I have. I look forward to your fly recipes and winter trips. If you happen to have a Facebook and would like to do me and Rhode Island brook trout a favor, please like the Protect Rhode Island Brook Trout Facebook page. And while you are at it, read some of the posts and go to their website to learn about their proposed wild trout refuge on the upper wood river watershed. Even if you don't have a Facebook account, you can still do all of this except actually liking the page. The wildlife action plan for Rhode Island will be finalized soon, so once you have read the proposed refuge on the website, if you could email the RI DEM (email for action plan input is on the PRIBT Facebook page and the DEM website) and express your support for the establishment of the refuge that would be awesome! Thanks again.

  2. RI Brook Trout,

I don't have a Facebook, but I did go and check out the website. It was really great, especially to see a group so dedicated to preserving brookies. I sent an email expressing support for it (I believe it was to the right email – I saw a few addresses). I'll be sure to mention the program in a later post.

    Thanks,
    ~Troy
