This video shows some great fly-tying skills and a clever way to use leftover CDC.

It could be coincidence, but I’ve had good luck using CDC on both dry flies and nymphs. I think having animation for certain flies pulls in fish. CDC can be challenging to work with, but I think that is part of the fun of fly tying.
