Blog colleague and MassWildlife Cold Fisheries Project Leader, Adam Kautza, will be speaking at a GBTU meeting.

Here is a description:

From his unique perspective as a cold water biologist, Adam will discuss cold water fisheries issues in Massachusetts. He will give an overview of the coldwater fishery resources (CFRs) in Massachusetts and start with the definition of CFRs and what additional protections they are afforded. From there, Adam will speak about MA wild trout resources, their distribution, and what is known about them, their population and characteristics. The presentation will conclude with highlights of his 2017 sampling, projects currently underway, and future directions the division would like to take with wild trout management.

    1. I know he is willing to travel and enjoys speaking to groups. I recall he spoke at a prior Indian Hollow event.

  1. Hey Sam I’d be more than happy to give a presentation anytime. I’ve spoken to many TU and angler/conservation groups all over the state. Oddly enough I haven’t done a formal presentation to any groups out in western Mass even though that’s where most of my work takes place. I think the furthest west I’ve spoken would be Ludlow (Western Mass Flyfishers), Indian Hollow (Mass-RI TU Council), or Gardner (Millers River TU). Contact me if you’d like to set something up.
