Fly Tying Course at Concord Outfitters

Happy New Year!

With winter upon us, this is a great time to learn how to tie flies. I started last year and am really glad that I did so. It really changed the game for me.

Still, it is intimidating to start off, and so, consider attending a fly tying course at Concord Outfitters. You can call them at (978) 318-0330.

Here is the description from an email they sent:

Whether you are a beginner or looking to brush up on your technique, the time is right to start tying. Join us for our freshwater tying course led by Doug Lyons. We will be tying five patterns that anchor any fly collection. The course will cost $75.00 per person and will be held over two dates (1/16/16 & 1/23/16). We will start at 9 am at the shop and run until noon. All materials and tools will be provided but if you would like to tie on your vise bring it along.

We will tie two patterns on Saturday 1/16/16:

  • Wooly Bugger
  • Gold Ribbed Hare’s Ear

On Saturday 1/23/16 we will cover the other three:

  • Elk Hair Caddis
  • Hendrickson (Classic Catskill Dry)
  • Mickey Finn

Get ready for the spring and have a great time doing it!
